Pride in those Thunder Thighs
Only under these circumstances would I EVER be proud to say that I have thunder thighs…
When it’s my adorable 8 month old!

That’s some serious chub! I think he’s actually gone down in size too. You know, due to the exhaustive crawling, pulling up to furniture, jumping in the exersaucer, and standing alone he does!
What a big, hungry, boy…

Not only does this kid have thunder thighs- he’s totally sporting CANKLES! Calf meets ankle and you have a cankle.

Yessir.
His calves are too chubby for the ankle to protrude…or is it the ankle that’s too chubby for the calf to end??? So they more or less blend together making it impossible to refer to either one individually. Oh the horror!!!
For instance, if I were to say, “Regan, could you pull Salem’s sock down to his ankle?”. What would she do? Or if I told Caleb, “Can you please put a bandage on Salem’s calf”. Well, whereinthaworld would he place it?
You can see how incredibly important it is that we are specific when referring to body parts!!
Hopefully none of you have to deal with this confusion…although I’ve heard it’s common in babies of this age. I’ve just never had a chubby child. Most of my issues were with chicken legs and, with those, not even being able to keep socks ON the poor kid. Much less pull a sock DOWN!
Lovin’ that Chub!!!

My boys used to have thighs like that…. my friend and I discussed it at one point because we used MotherEase cloth nappies and I had to buy different covers with a gusset for Noah— seriously!— and she was like “I never had any problems with the ME ones being to tight, etc…” and then she saw me change him and said “course my kids nevers had THIGHS like that!”. We figured it was good breastmilk storage!

I resemble these remarks (thunder thighs and cankles in particular)! =)
LOVE those chubby, Gerber babies! They’re my favorites! Soooo much fun to squeeze! Wish you guys were still here so we’d have a chance to squeeze His Royal Roundness at will!
