The day has come, ladies, to discuss our Post Baby Bodies.  Do you have issues with your body, post baby?  Are you actively trying to lose weight?  Do you care?  Do you need therapy?

Let’s dish!

For me, pregnancy has always stirred up my metabolism.  It gets insanely high and really helps me keep weight off while pregnant.  I also really like doing aerobics while I’m pregnant and that really helps me get back to my pre baby weight faster.  Then, while I’m nursing (for the first year) I am burning lots of calories just sitting down (lovely) and I still have a high metabolism.  All that said, I don’t really have to work out daily to keep weight off while pregnant and nursing.

However, after nursing is a different story.  I am noticing that the chocolate cake isn’t going to my big toes anymore…it’s going to my big thighs!  I have begun walking regularly, on our walking trail behind the house.  This week I went three out of five mornings and walked about 1.5 miles.  That really isn’t a satisfactory amount for me though.  I would rather walk more like 2.5, but there is just not enough time in the day.

Am I right, or am I right?  Right?

Caleb and I did push ups and sit ups one day.  I am really sad to say that I was actually sore the next day from doing 10 girl push ups.  That’s just pitiful- don’t think less of me…

I love to do hand weights to get a little tone in my arms and I love to do leg and buttock exercises.

Those are my “problem areas”.  Holla?

You know about the chicken squat thigh, I also do rear leg extensions (3 sets of 20 daily), I run up and down stairs several times a day, I bend and straighten numerous times, and basically I chase after 2 babies and a 4 year old.  I love this one exercise where you lye on your back and place your infant child on your shins- legs together and bent so that the baby can lay on his tummy.  Then you do crunches.  Your faces meet and the child giggles contagiously.  Do that about a million times and you’ll have a six-pack.

Dance party USA is part of our daily regime.  We turn the XM radio on and groove to the BPM “Underground club music” or something like that.  It is funky- fresh!

Oh yeah, and I eat good food.  Not the processed stuff.  The food that God’s earth produces.  We don’t eat out very often and if we have desserts we try to make them ourselves.  Like this wonderful oreo cheesecake Regan made yesterday- it wasn’t low fat or organic but it sure was good.

Those are special treats though.  We don’t really eat that stuff often.

What are some great exercises you have?  How are you doing post baby?
