Bounty Hunter

You know your boys have watched too much Star Wars when everything in our natural lives reminds them of Jango Fett.  Even paper towel packages…

Mr. Fett was a bounty hunter in the popular movies, and my boys are just a little bit in love with said films…actually there love is for the Wii game- Lego Star Wars.  I guess that’s Nintendo’s way of disguising brutality…because evidently if it’s a little Lego man who is blown to smithereens it’s not as bad as when they are real digital people, right?!

Needless to say, they ask 50 million times a day if they can play Wii, and 49,999,999 times I say “NO!”.

It’s that one, “YES!” that keeps them persistent.

…And Yes, Caleb took a sharpie and wrote “HUNTER” on the Bounty paper towel package.  His head is in the game.

Here are a few still shots of their latest light saber practice session.

Notice their inconspicuous hooded “robes”…just like Luke!

In this still shot Jedi Master Caleb uses “the force” to teach Padawan learner Titan the importance of patience and focus.  Check out that form.

Ouch! That’s gonna leave a mark!

In case you haven’t studied the coveted art used by the Jedi, here is a little video tutorial for you to learn from! This comes only after hours and hours of practice with their very own light sabers (from Disney World mind you).

Don’t try this at home, friends.

I mean, they did but you shouldn’t because they are real Jedi Masters. (They told me so)

You can learn something new everyday, eh?

(Funny side story…when I showed this video to Todd he asked me if I had slowed the footage down at all.  I laughed and said “Uh, no.  That is real-time light saber fighting right there babe”.  I would suggest that they are actually moving so fast that you can’t even see all the movements with the natural eye!!)

Oh yeah, and since we’re on the subject of tutorials I made one that Dr. Lynne Kenney asked me to make for her.  Remember my big announcement a few weeks ago about being on TV.  Well, as the story goes she called me again last week and asked me to make another video (which is the technique I used to ask her my first parenting question-video).  I politely obliged and thus gave way to another debut of mine on Dr. Kenney’s Twitter Moms page.  You can see it here if you are apart of Twitter Moms and here if you aren’t.

I spent an hour on the phone this afternoon learning lots of great tips for training children.  I can’t wait to share them with you.

The Family Coach Method (by Dr. Lynne Kenney) is very helpful and I have really enjoyed learning more from this wonderful lady.  Check out her site when you have a chance…and buy the book for even more great info!

This was one of the things the boys played when they were here. They were out on the driveway with their various sabers throwing down using the force…ha! :O)

    Fun stuff!
