Homemaker Chronicles

What do you need?  As a mother, wife, business woman, home maker, teacher, or all of the above?  What is your biggest need?  This question comes from the thought that while we spend much of our time giving and doing for our families, we also NEED some things too.  Today I am interested in hearing what other women need.

My biggest physical need, really and truly, is quiet.   Shhhhhhh….just sit….

See? Isn’t that nice?

It must be said that even sitting in silence sometimes isn’t quite enough, so I do have one more undying need.

Grace.  I need grace.

As I sit here on the couch typing, I must confess to you that I am not perfect.  I make bad decisions, I become puffed up and prideful at times, selfishness runs rampant in my heart, and there are days when I am not nice to anyone…at all.

I need grace.

I do not deserve grace, but I need it.  That’s why it’s grace…favor that is undeserved.  I need it from my friends, I need it from my family, I need it from my husband, and my kids but, above all, I need it from my Father.  God’s grace is the thing I need.  It’s what I need to make it through the day.  I must have it to raise my children.  God’s Grace is completely necessary in making my marriage last a life-time.  I even (and sometimes especially) need grace to love my brothers and sisters in Christ.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”  2 Corinthians 9:8

Let it be, Lord.  Let it be.
