(sing with me) …so I can, so I caaan…
See Christmas lights!!!
If you glanced at my sidebar then you already know that Friday’s Homemaker Moments is going to be a fun one because we’ll be sharing our favorite Christmas flicks.
Do you have one in mind??
I couldn’t wait to tell you guys that *spoiler alert* one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time is…Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation.
Have you seen it? Isn’t it the best?
One of my favorite scenes in this movie is when Clark Griswold is trying to get the Christmas lights on his house to come on and they won’t. He goes to all this effort to staple each little bulb to every square inch of the house and when reveal time comes they don’t light up.
Wow, I’m giving away too much, aren’t I? You just need to see it!
When they finally do get the lights to come on, the house is so blazing bright that the next door neighbors fall down the stairs in their own house due to blindness, all the surrounding power- as far away as you can see- is sucked dry, and the Griswold’s electricity meter begins spinning out of control.
It’s bright, people. We’re talking throne room in heaven bright.
Funny thing is, we found a house in our town that beats even the Griswold’s. Perhaps it’s because I can see it in person, but it’s nothing shy of throne room status. I mean, I think my retinas were severely burned after driving by this house the other night. Well here, you should just watch on your own…Todd used his “guy”phone to capture this just for you guys!
(forewarning, put your sunglasses on)
I love it! When I grow up I want to lavish my yard with Christmas lights each season, and play the “Grinch Who Stole Christmas” in my front yard so that everyone driving by (and tuning in to 89.9 FM) can watch and listen.
Brilliant!
Seriously though, I would have to take out a loan to afford lights like these.

Heck, I would have to live in my own house to even put my own lights up in the first place!

Oh, I didn’t tell you guys that we live with my parents?
We do.
Topic change…
For the last six months we’ve been living with my parents trying to get my husband’s business off the ground. How generous of my parents, yes…they are very generous, patient, sharing, and helpful. That is why I have had very few posts on decorating or painting or the latest yard ornaments, etc. Because I do not freely add things to my parents home. They like their home the way it is. Well, they would probably like it more if it were minus seven extra people, but decor-wise I think they have done a wonderful job and they don’t need my input.
Now that the cat is out of the bag maybe it will make some of my posts a little more interesting for you to read. It certainly does make our life a lot more interesting to live!

Where is this house, Angie? We took the boys after church Sunday night by three houses in Catherines Place on Tony Circle that has lots of lights sychronized to Christmas music. If you are going down Donaghey close to Dave Ward like you’re headed toward the Barn and tune in your car radio to 89.9 you can hear some of the songs. It was pretty awesome but the best thing about it was that it was clearly a culdesac effort because there was a man handing out little candy canes to everyone in the cars and, best of all, there was a charity set up taking donations. So you get to see awesome lights AND help out a worthy charity!!!

There are many things that I am NOT too Angie, but Jesus is everything and more that I am not and He is in me! What He has, I have and I am thankful; not by might but by grace….PRAISE THE LORD!!! :O)
