It’s Friday’s Homemaker Moments, which means one week until Christmas, which means today we’ll be talking about all the Christmas movies that will be playing on the TV over the next week.  Do you have any favorites?

I do.

My all time, hands down, ultimate favorite Christmas movie is….

WHITE CHRISTMAS!!

I love musicals and I love Christmas movies…put those two things together and you have White Christmas.  Todd took me to see it in a theater in Little Rock a few days after Adia was born and it was incredibly good on the big screen- even better actually!  Except that Adia did one of those loud squirty poops (you know those that breast-fed babies always have?) right at a very quiet part of the movie.  All the people around us began snickering and looking at me.  I was like, “That wasn’t me.  Seriously, that was the baby.  See?  I have a baby right here that squirts” (holding her up for all to see).  The people just laughed harder.

White Christmas is a must see for me!

The only other movie that I make a point to watch each and every Christmas, and the one that I’ve already mentioned here this week, is Christmas Vacation.  I laugh from start to finish when that movie comes on, except for this one scene that’s a little risque in my book. I just shake my head and sing along, “Mele Kalikimakah is the thing to say on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day…”.

What is your favorite Christmas movie?

(I won’t be doing the Mcklinky today, but you are welcome to leave me a comment with your URL if you’ve already taken the time to write a post.  Sorry for any inconvenience)

Hands down, my personal all-time favorite Christmas movie is “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart! If you haven’t seen this yet and you like to watch a feel-good movie that will probably make you cry, this is it!

If you like “White Christmas”, Angie you should really watch “Holiday Inn” which is where the song “White Christmas” first debuted! It’s also another all time fave in our home and one the boys will even watch despite it being a black and white movie. Another great Christmas movie is “The Bishop’s Wife” with Cary Grant, Loretta Young, and David Niven. It’s a wonderful movie! Then, for the kids (if you can get them to watch a B&W movie) there’s “Miracle on 34th Street” with Natalie Wood and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” where Linus shares the gospel…very cool! “A Christmas Story” with Peter Billingsley as Ralphie is another must see.

We actually own all but one of the movies mentioned above (The Bishop’s Wife)! We love the Christmas movies in our house. I do believe Eric might have “Christmas Vacation” but, like you said, it’s one we can’t really watch as a family unless we fast-forward thru a couple of spots.

Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy watching “White Christmas!”

Oooh! We like Elf too….we’ve already watched it twice this year!! I also really love to kick off the Christmas season on Thanksgiving night with Home Alone. It came on this year, but we weren’t home, so it’s been sitting on our DVR waiting for us. Hmm…maybe I’ll watch it tonight… :)

Oh, Vicky- you and I should have a Christmas movie night marathon together!
I have never seen Holiday Inn or White Christmas, but the “Christmas Story” makes me laugh every time I see it, “Miracle on 34th Street” is just a great, warm movie and “It’s a Wonderful Life” is just a fabulous classic that I LOVE! And “Charlie Brown Christmas”- well, you can’t go into Christmas without watching this one too!
we watched it the other night with our boys and Krys had never seen it before (can we say deprived?!) The boys loved it and Krys was pleasantly surprised at the message that it sends. :)
Now, I apparently need to watch Holiday Inn and White Christmas too!

That would be fun, Jenny! I should let you borrow my “Holiday Inn” and “White Christmas”. Isn’t “It’s a Wonderful Life” the best ever? Love that movie; have since I was younger than Farrell. :)
