Anyone know who this is??

Go on…take a stab at it…

Despite what you might think, this is not Hello Kitty.  This, according to my  2 year old comedian (Adia), is

Secret Santa!!

Why in the world would she ever imagine that??  Well, after Thanksgiving this year the kids all drew names to see who they would get to leave little gifts for each day up until Christmas Day.  Then on Christmas morning each child would give a gift to a sibling and also have a gift under the tree from a sibling.

We named this Secret Santa.

It was a BIG secret for the entire month of December.  No one was aloud to tell who they had for “Secret Santa”.

As the fun went on Adia received a cute little picture on her pillow each afternoon that read, “To: Adia   From: Secret Santa”

No wonder she wasn’t excited when Regan reveled herself as the secreter.   After about 25 of these Secret Santa pictures Adia had it figured out…but we didn’t.  It wasn’t until after Christmas, when Adia found her Hello Kitty water bottle under her bed, and said, “Oh Hi Secret Santa!”.

Oops!

We didn’t correct her.  It’s just too cute!

Betcha don’t know what these are!!

Nope.  That’s not the moon.

Nor is that the light over my kitchen sink.

And that is most certainly not a flashlight!!

What you see here folks are BADGUYS!  Beware!

It took me a while to figure this one out, honestly.  See, the bigger kids are always playing hide and seek in the dark.  They close the door from the kitchen to their bedroom (they all share a room) and stay on thei half of the house hiding and seeking eachother.  I suppose that they pretend that the other half of the house (the lit up side) is where the “bad guys” are camped out because they occasionally open the door- shining a flashlight into the room- and yell “BADGUYS…RUN!!!”.  Of course noone is there- they are pretending.  Adia screams and runs as if she knows all about those bad guys and why they are running away…except she’s usually smiling. 

Hmmm??  I guess she DOESN’T HAVE A CLUE!

Although, I can see how it would be safe to assume that if you are constantly running away from a light and screaming “BADGUYS”, that one could assume the light source IS the bad guy. 

Guess that explains why Adia is NOT afraid of the dark and why she keeps pointing at the moon whispering, “Mom- badguys”.
