  • Because I’m curious

How many people listen to music while cooking or cleaning the house?  Take this quick poll…

Alright, now once you take the poll, tell me this…what are your favorite songs to listen to, if you are one that listens to songs while cleaning and cooking.  I would also love it if you left me a comment [...]

  • Just a short conversation

Me:  Alright, alright, you can dress up and play Halloween this year.
    Kids: Really?  Yessss!
Me:  But we’re all going to be Native American Indians…and no arguing.
    Simultaneously-
Titan:  But I want to be a ninja.
Caleb:  Why can’t I be Venom?
Regan:  Sweet!  Can I wear feathers and a dress?
    Adia:  I’m cute
Me:  I respect all your good ideas and they [...]

  • I am reminded

This area of our country (Arkansas) is so beautiful this time of year.  When that fall breeze blows the leaves fall like snow from the turning trees,  it feels like an appropriate introduction to winter.  And the leaves…oh, the leaves.  They don’t just turn brown and fall to the ground.  NO, they turn all different [...]

  • Dinner recipes and bulk cooking

A while back I learned, actually when we only had two kids I learned that cooking food all at once is so very helpful for our family.  I don’t know what the real name for this is, but I call it bulk cooking.  Maybe it is or can be helpful for yours too!
    Here’s how it [...]

  • I heart faces: Dress Up

My kids sometimes paint their faces to hand out candy and those little encouragement cards you can get at the local Christian Book store, but we haven’t gone Trick-or-treating in years.  We have dressed up for for fall festivals and such.  This was no exception.  Back in the day, when I worked full time and [...]

  • Friday’s Homemaker Moments: Kids and fall recipes

Friday’s Homemaker Moments is a time when we can all share our ideas and opinions.  Today is no different and I sure hope you’ll share.  I am seriously having a hard time getting into fall this year because I just don’t find it as wonderful as I do summertime.
Will you fall-lovers help me out?
    I don’t [...]

  • Up late and blogging

The story of my life lately is “up late and blogging”.  If I’m not writing a post, editing photos, or networking with other bloggers then I’m being wife and mom.  The latter actually DOES take precedent and I am fully aware that it should
    thankyouverymuch!
I’m not sure if you’re aware of this great little button [...]

  • Everyone should visit the Pumpkin Patch

I’ll bet none of you figured out that the Pumpkin Patch was where we had been!  Yeah, cause it wasn’t obvious from this picture that I posted yesterday
that we had been collecting pumpkins.  Of course these are not all ours…this is just what we had to pick from.
In honor of the pumpkin patch outing, I [...]

Surely you guys have heard Little Bunny Foo Foo?  You know how he was walking through the forest, picking up the field mice and bopping them on the head?  Well, along came the good fairy and she said, “Little Bunny Foo Foo, I don’t want to see you picking up the field mice and bopping [...]

  • I heart faces: PINK

My mom and I “ran” the race for the cure this weekend…it was our first time!!
More than anything else, I was amazed at the amount of people that were there (around 50,000) in Little Rock.  I was also amazed at the amount of non-racer supporters that participated- like these guys…

  • Homemaker Moments: Define your role

This Friday’s Homemaker Moments is dedicated to learning more about a woman’s role in her home.  God made each of us unique and each of us uniquely in our homes.  So it’s not going to look the same for you as it is for me, but I love to learn from other moms and wives.  [...]

  • A little parental advice

I don’t consider myself a parenting expert, but these are some things that have worked for our five children…so take it or leave it!!
Advice for parents of children that are any age:  Basically, turn your “do not”s into “do”s.
Instead of making rules using the word “don’t”, trying exchanging that for things they can do.  [...]

  • Indoor Campout

That’s an oxymoron if I’ve ever heard one!   Although, that’s exactly what we did this weekend.  Let me back up and tell you the whole story.
We were invited to a family campout to be held last Friday night.  It was going to be in the front yard of a family who has over 32 acres, [...]

  • I heart faces: Excited!

My I heart faces entry for Excited week is of Adia.  This is only hours after I had found her in her room with my haircutting scissors and lots of blond hairs clumped on the floor.
Yep, she had cut a nice straight line, right above her ear and all the way to the back of [...]

Food…it’s so good isn’t it?  Each turn of the season makes me think of all kinds of foods and this week has been no different what with all the cool weather and rain we are getting here in Arkansas.  I’m not much of a fall person…I mean it’s pretty and all, but I’m a summer [...]

  • That time of year

Fall…that time of year when the leaves turn to brilliant colors, when the morning air is crisp but the afternoons bring subtle warmth, when smells of allspice and nutmeg fill the kitchen’s air, when football is in full force, the sun says “goodnight” much too early, and when this family goes thrift store shopping.
    Yep, we’re [...]

  • On a serious note

I love to have fun and be silly.  It is in my blood to make jokes about everything and be sarcastic constantly.  While I hope that no one is ever offended by my extreme comments (and believe me- lately they have been), please know that this blog is for fun… mainly.  When it’s not used [...]

You know your boys have watched too much Star Wars when everything in our natural lives reminds them of Jango Fett.  Even paper towel packages…

  • Homemaker Moments: Building your house

According to Proverbs 14:1a, “a wise woman builds her house”.  We are sharing with each other how we have built our houses this week.  Not with brick or materials, but with wisdom.
A few wise things I’ve done this week include:  leaving Adia in her panties to take a nap after forgetting to take her to [...]

  • An “Angie” Proverb

Have you ever felt like you knew what you were supposed to do, but because of something someone else thought you questioned what you KNEW you were supposed to do?
    Don’t.
Stand your ground…if you know that you know. (This is the proverb)
If you don’t know that you know, then that person might be sent to persuade [...]
