  • Here is what happens…

…when it’s my kitchen duty day and I don’t clear the table off immediately after breakfast.

That boy knows where his pie hole is for sure!
Could have been worse, but I am impressed with Salem’s finger painting abilities.  Considering he’s never had that experience before, it’s a wonder he knew what to do after squirting half [...]

  • The 10 Commandments

When Regan and Caleb were in Kindergarten and first grade we memorized the 10 commandments together.  In the King James version.  Titan was a little thing back then so he doesn’t remember any of them and since those guys are in Texas with some friends I thought it would be a good time to start [...]

Should we, or should we not get Salem a robotic Elmo for his second birthday?

  • Tell me how you really feel

After lunch one day last week I walked into find this…

I took that to mean Salem wanted a bath.

    I can take a hint.

Why else would he slap his plate ontop of his head and then cram the macaroni into his scalp like it was shampoo?  Now that I think about it, maybe he going for [...]

  • Guard your couches!!

Once upon a time lived a giant baby.
Under his giant foot he squashed all the daisies.
He sat down in a chair,

    forgetting he was a bear.

Now, no one else can be lazy.

Actually, it made his mom laugh out loud for twenty-two minutes!

After which she grabbed her trusty camera for you all to get a good laugh.
    That’s [...]

Any guesses to who this might be? Should I call the exterminator?

  • Joy comes in the morning two

I’d love to have another epiphany like I had last winter, but lately it’s just been heads down. I guess that’s why I have this blog- to go back and remember the good and the bad!
I wrote this (below) last year and it did me a lot of good to go back to that [...]

  • Guess the Gift part 3: UPDATED

Can YOU guess what Salem got for Christmas?

    What about Todd…

    …can you figure it out?
Check back for more and the answers later today!
    *UPDATED*
Close Katie!  Salem actually got this…

…a slide that looks like a castle. It can also double as a tent if you hide underneath it, say when you’re playing hide and seek for instance, [...]

  • My Day in Pictures

I guess the cookie didn’t serve it’s purpose… to distract Salem from the giant man with white, curly hair pouring off of his face.

    Hmmm?

  • Resemblance

The relationship among brothers is fun to watch.  Especially with these two…

Salem on the left (18 months old, present day) and Caleb on the right (at 18 months old).  I am of the persuasion that they favor.  It was hard to decide who Salem looked like when he was born, but as he grows older [...]

Videos are just popping out all over the place this week.   I hope this isn’t boring you.  I adore family videos…especially of my kids doing their thing.  This is definitely of Salem “doing his thing”!  Take a look-see…

  • Salem the Survivorman

Survivorman is a show on the Discovery Chanel that is all about how to survive if you found yourself in a situation where you were stranded.  This is Todd’s most favoritest show EVER!  He started watching it via Netflix when we lived in Texas and now we watch it almost biweekly!  It shows us everyday [...]

  • Out with the Old in with the Soy

Salem is winding down his nursing.  By that I mean, he isn’t nursing much these days.  Back to Angie’s body as usual.  I’m not sure I’m liking the way that’s shaping up, but oh well.  It is what it is…right?  Maybe I’ll run a marathon or do some aerobics or just take a walk every [...]

  • Foreshadowing

I put this onesie on Salem in the morning.

I found Salem like this in the evening.

    Foreshadowing?
I should have known, what with all the paint we’ve had around over the last week, that he was bound to stumble upon an unmanned, yet completely full, tray.
The world is his dinner plate.

  • Sepia Week

This week at I heart faces it’s Sepia Tone week.  I love this picture of Salem just chillin’ on the rocks at a park in Texas.  I had to use his long-sleeved onesie as sunblock that day.  He just looks so cool and so cute at the same time! My favorite part of the [...]

Can you believe my baby is 11 months old?  And he’ll be 1 year old in a few weeks??  WOOOOWWWW….
I know you saw pictures of when he was first pulling up to standing…and then a video of him standing…and of course there’s always the screeching eel.
    But I don’t think you’ve seen THIS yet…I think you’ll [...]

  • I heart faces (Birthday)

It’s Birthday week at I Heart Faces.   June is a great month for Birthdays in our household…considering Todd and Salem share one on the 18th, mine is 4 days later, and Regan’s is 4 days after that.  Also, my dad’s, cousin’s and uncle’s are also in the month of June.  Whew!!
    Anyway, I chose a pic [...]

  • to make the bed or not to make the bed?

This is what I find myself asking each morning after I wake up, drink some coffee, read or pray (or both), take a shower (or don’t), and come into my bedroom where the sheets and comforter are tousled to and fro.
I require the kids to make their beds.  It’s part of their “morning chores”…make your [...]

  • Pride in those Thunder Thighs

Only under these circumstances would I EVER be proud to say that I have thunder thighs…
When it’s my adorable 8 month old!

That’s some serious chub!  I think he’s actually gone down in size too.  You know, due to the exhaustive crawling, pulling up to furniture, jumping in the exersaucer, and standing alone he does!

  • Conflatulations!

The other day Caleb was asked to watch Salem for a bit while I ran to grab Adia off of the trampoline.
Salem had been crawling around on the kitchen floor scavenging for morsels.
    As usual.
He had also been trying to drop a bomb in his diaper for at least 10 minutes, but I had not yet heard the infamous “SQUIRT” [...]

Raise your haaand…if you like co-sleeping with your infant!  “Me Me!!”
This is the raise your hand game.  Everyone raises their hand BEFORE the person screaming “raise your haaand” says WHY you are raising your hand.
    Let’s try again.
I say…”Raise your haaand” (okay, raise your hand now)
I see the raised hands and continue…”if you like co-sleeping with your [...]
